summer fun 2010

Here it is July already and we are in full swing of summer and having a blast! For those of you who do not know this past school year I started my own child care business at home to help supplement our income during this crazy economy. I have two full time babies and 4 after school kids, plus my own!! They keep me very busy! I've been very fortunate to take care of teachers children so I can be off in the summer months with my own kids!

We have been having so much fun, we went on our first camping trip as a family the first weekend that school was out. It was at a trout stream in the North Carolina Mountains, we slept right next to the water and it's all you heard all night long, it was amazing! The kids had a blast fishing and Ethan caught his own trout and even learned to gut it! We all tried it after it was cooked and Emma and I were the only ones to like it! No surprise there! For those of you who don't know Ethan is very picky! Everything has to be dunked in ketchup!

Snow Day

I have been wanting to sit down and get caught up on my blog but every night I sit down I'm so tired I don't know where to begin!! About a month ago we had a couple of inches of snow here in Charlotte and we had so much fun!! It's the first time I have been sledding since I was a teenager and the kids and I had a blast. The crazy funny thing is that we don't even have a sled and I found out that the way to go sledding in North Carolina is using our boogie boards from the beach!! Welcome to the south!!! We also went into the hot tub in the snow and it was a fun experience for all of us!!

Happy Halloween

We had a lot of fun carving pumpkins this week and cooking pumpkin seeds. Nels brought home a kit to carve the pumpkins and they all had fun doing it! Ethan made a spider, Emma a cat and Nels a haunted house. They looked really great!

Our first stop for trick r treating was Grandma Burgess house.

We had a blast with our friends tonight. Jackson caught on really quick to the idea of going up to all the houses and getting candy. He was running trying to keep up with all the older kids. we did miss our daddy tonight. He is in Raleigh working a home show for our business. We love & miss you Dad!

Fripp Island

It has been a crazy but good week since we have been home. I've been wanting to add more pictures of our amazing week at Fripp Island. We got to see such cool wildlife. There is a place for the kids to go called camp Fripp where they can hold all kinds of animals, they loved it! And I thought it was really cool too!

We had so much fun feeding the deer, it was a daily routine. We even fed them left over pizza!

We tried to get a good picture of the 4 grandchildren but Jack was not cooperating. He was really crabby this morning. The only thing he would do is kiss Logan's head.

Summer Beach Trip August 2009

We are so excited to be back to Fripp Island! We just got here about 4 pm and we have already done so much! We went out for a golf cart ride tonight and we were able to feed deer right out of our hands! The kids thought it was the coolest thing!

This is one of my favorite places on the Island it is so beautiful!

Kipfer Family Reunion

This weekend we had a family reunion on my dad's side at Odosagih Bible Camp.  We had so much fun, It was great catching up with all the cousins I grew up with and it was really fun to see our children playing together too!  Lots of second cousins!
